You will first download the Starling Medical app. This is how you will receive feedback from your urine samples and contact the Starling care team, if necessary.
Once UrinDx arrives at your home address, you will pick a toilet you most commonly use first thing in the morning, clean the toilet, and remove the plastic backing from the device anchor. UrinDx gently snaps in place and will be ready for use!
We understand others may need to use the same bathroom where UrinDx is set up and there is no need for you to remove the device from the toilet.
Please make sure your smartphone is not within 6 feet of the bathroom when others are using the toilet. This will ensure the device does not identify you as the user even if someone else’s sample goes through UrinDx.
UrinDx is offered to you in partnership with your health insurance. Depending on your coverage, a copay may be associated with the services, which may include the telehealth appointments, lab services, and treatment necessary as part of your standard of care.
In order to maintain your device clean, please make sure it has been positioned near the toilet’s water stream so that it captures fresh water with every flush. Your device will do a quick calibration every time before you use it to make sure you are getting an accurate score.
In addition to flushing after every use, UrinDx should be cleaned with clean water once a month.
